The Founding President of International Institute for Human Rights, Environment and Development (INHURED International) which enjoys Special Consultative Status, UN-ECOSOC, Dr. Siwakoti is in a high profile leadership position since the inception period of the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APRRN), including the Durable Solutions Working Group. The Network is a rainbow coalition of more than 400 organizations and individuals working across the region in advancing the rights of refugees and other forced migrants.

Esteemed as International Advisor of Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD) and Statelessness Network Asia Pacific (SNAP), Dr. Siwakoti, besides representing in various UN forums, has also been honored as a guest-lecturer on human rights, transitional justice, forced migration, refugee protection, internal displacement, SDGs, and freedom of elections at various universities in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa. Asa principal trainer and Senior International Observer at Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL), and Secretary General of National Election Observation Committee (NEOC), he has joined several election related exploratory and observation missions primarily in Asia and occasionally in Africa and North America.

Honored by the Swiss Bureau of Statistics under “Who is Who-2000” on “Refugee Protection in South Asia”, he has also been conferred several awards including Person of the Year-2008; Global Nonviolence Advocate-2010 along with National Peace Award-2010. Dr. Siwakoti has championed the cause of refugees and migrants in the region as a front-runner advocate and has been aninfluentialcivil society leader for the adoption of the twin Global Compacts for Refugees, and Migration by the UN General Assembly in 2018. His contribution to human rights movement transcends beyond geographic and political borders. He has partaken in struggle for freedom of expression and multi-party electoral democracy since early eighties and became a prisoner of principle for four years.

He has authored and edited several books, research reports, films and documentaries on refugees, electoral freedom, transitional justice, human rights, peace, disaster displacement, climate change, safer migration and counter-trafficking.

Ms. Shreejana Pokhrel, Executive Director at INHURED International holds LLM in International Human Rights Law from University of Essex with specialization on Public International Law, International Law of Armed Conflict, Detention in International Law, International Criminal Law and Transitional Justice. In addition to this, she also holds MA on International NGO studies from Sungkonghoe University, South Korea with specialization in International Relation, Peace and Global Politics, Global Feminism, Migration Studies. Currently, she is practitioner working exclusively on the issues of Women Peace and Security, GESI, Forced Migration, Migration Management and Transitional Justice. Ms. Pokhrel has 18 years of meaningful experience working for National/International Human Rights organizations along with Specialized Intergovernmental Organization. She has been engaged in different high level steering committee on different thematic areas of human rights concern. On the different note, she also has experience working very closely with UN Human Rights Committee under individual complaint mechanism on the issues of gross violations of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. 

With advance university degrees in Civil Engineering (1984) and Anthropology (development study focus) (2004) I have over 30 years of multi-sectoral professional work experiences in managing development in Nepal (1985 to 2005) and various other countries such as Laos, Afghanistan, Solomon Islands and Kurdistan Region of Iraq (2006 – 2017).

Have worked as a subject specialist with UNICEF and other UN agencies, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, IUCN, DFID, GTZ, SDC (Swiss development Cooperation) and various NGOs/INGOs/Consultancies.

Also, worked as a university lecturer (IoE, Pulchowk), Nov 1984 May 1985, and a high-level political appointee, Vice Chair of a Government committee designated to solve the waste management crisis in Kathmandu valley 1994/95.

A volunteer civil society campaigner and activist for sustainable development, larger civil and political rights as well as decentralization during 1988 – 2006 [For example Spokesperson, Arun Concerned Group, Executive Member, Society for International Development (SID), Nepal Chapter (1989 to 2006); Founder General Secretary, Coalition Nepal, NGO network for environment and sustainable development originated in the context of UNCED / Earth Summit (Brazil, June 1992) (1989 – 1994); Life Member Nepal Engineers Association 1992; Jan 2001: Member, Nepal Engineering Council. ]

Was a student activist among Nepali students in India during 1980-84 (Central executive member, All India Nepalese Student Association and Founding Coordinator All India Nepalese Free StudentsUnion).

Ms. Ambika Bhandari is a newly elected official of INHURED International in the capacity of a Treasurer. Her association with the organization is not new since she was also associated with the organization from1995 till 2000 as a volunteer. She has been actively involved in gender equality related activities and was part of the Mini-Beijing Conference held in 1997. She has undergone a specialized training on election observation jointly organized by Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL), Forum Asia and National Election Observation Committee (NEOC) and participated as a national observer during 1995 and 1999 General Elections in Nepal. She joined Nepal Heart Foundation since 2006 and has accomplished multiple charity works relating to promoting healthy hearts across the country with her bastion at Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre in Kathmandu. As a founder of S&K Company, she has acquired advanced knowledge and expertise on organizational operation, corporate governance, administration and financial management.

Ms. Kopila Mote has  been  working  as  a member in Executive committee of INHURED International since 2019.

Ms.Mote has completed her bachelor degree in sociology/Anthropologhy from Tribhuwan University in 2015. She has worked in several renowned organization such as Dalit Feminist Organisation  Nepal(DFON) & Dalit  Human Right organization  (DHRO)  as a social and human right activist  protesting the segregation of indigenous ethnic groups across nepal and environmentalists fighting to protect and promote  the environment  and feminists working to secure women's rights  .

Mr. Rakesh Kumar Yadav has more than 10 years’ work experience in public health and development sectors with different NGO, INGO and Government organization such as World Health Organization (WHO), Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Jhpiego Nepal, Save the children, Population Service International (PSI) Nepal, SPHARSH Nepal, Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) - Nepal, NEOC, Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN), USAID/DFID funded project,  WINROCK International and others as a different positions.

Mr. Yadav has completed MasterDegree in Sociology - 2019, Master’s Degree in Health Education – 2016, Bachelor Degree in Health Education – 2012 from Tribhuwan University (TU), Nepal. Additionally, to this Mr. Yadav has earned Diploma in General Medicine Health Assistant from CTEVT, Nepal.

Sabina Dhakal is an advocate holding a double master's degree in Law (LLM) and English Literature (MA). She has been working in the field of human rights for the past eight years and is dedicated to helping disadvantaged sections of society.

As a project coordinator INHURED she oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects aimed at promoting and protecting human rights. Her roles include managing project timelines and budgets, coordinating with stakeholders, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with organizational and legal standards. She is also responsible for facilitating communication among team members, preparing reports, and contributing to strategic planning and advocacy efforts.

Aggya Dahal is a dedicated finance officer currently working at Inhured International. She completed her Bachelor of Business Studies from Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu, and is now pursuing an MBA at Wolver Hampton University, Kathmandu. Throughout her career, she has accumulated extensive experience in financial management, accounting, and business strategy.

In her current role, she oversees financial operations, ensures regulatory compliance, manages budgets, and provides strategic financial insights to support business growth. Her expertise in financial planning and analysis has been instrumental in driving cost efficiencies and enhancing financial performance. Committed to continuous learning, she is enhancing her knowledge through her MBA studies, focusing on Financial Management. Outside of work, she enjoys dancing and traveling maintaining a balanced and well-rounded lifestyle. Her dedication to excellence and proactive problem-solving approach make her a valuable asset to her team.

Saroj Phuyal is responsible for providing immediate support and assistance to individuals facing human rights abuses. He is operating helplines or hotlines, offering crisis intervention, and providing information and referrals to appropriate services such as legal aid, medical care, and shelter. He is crucial in maintaining confidentiality, showing empathy, and ensuring the safety of callers while accurately documenting incidents and tracking trends.

Saloni Sharma, a law graduate from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, who is driven by a deep-seated passion for justice and humanitarian work. Her legal journey encompasses a wide array of internships across India and Nepal, where she has engaged with critical issues in criminal law, human rights, and insolvency. Throughout these experiences, she has sharpened her skills in preparing case summaries, drafting legal documents, conducting thorough legal research, contributing to significant cases, and aiding senior counsel in high-profile court proceedings.

Beyond her professional engagements, Saloni is passionately committed to advocacy, focusing on supporting marginalized communities and upholding the principles of fairness and equality in society. Through a blend of professional expertise and dedicated activism, she strives to make a meaningful impact on the legal landscape.

Ms. Maiya Maharjan has been working as an Office Assistant at INHURED International since 2006.

Ms. Maharjan assists in administrative duties, including greeting guests, answering phones, handling organization inquiries, sorting and distributing mail as per the organization's needs, and providing lunch and beverages to the office staff and guests.
